# How do I set up alerts on the MT5?

Setting up alerts on MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is a great way to stay informed about market movements without constantly monitoring your screen. Here’s how you can set up alerts:

1. Open the Toolbox Window: Go to the “View” menu and select “Toolbox” or press Ctrl + T to open the Toolbox window.
 2. Navigate to the Alerts Tab: In the Toolbox window, click on the “Alerts” tab.
 3. Create a New Alert: Right-click in the Alerts tab and select “Create” from the context menu.
 4. Configure the Alert: In the “Alert Editor” window, you can set the following parameters:
 • Action: Choose what action the alert will trigger (e.g., Sound, File, Mail, Notification).
 • Symbol: Select the trading instrument for which you want to set the alert.
 • Condition: Set the condition that will trigger the alert (e.g., Bid >, Ask <). • Value: Specify the price level or value that will trigger the alert. • Source: Choose the sound file or notification type. • Timeout: Set the time interval between repeated alerts. • Expiration: Define the date and time when the alert will expire. 5.
